Mangolian Wars

The econmomic strategie in my Civilizations IV game is to build a good agricutlural base. This will in turn create more opporunties for the empire to flourish and will provide materials to import and export from other empires. My game is in the early stages of 75 BC and therefore the agricultural base is not very strong. I am also trying to produce a large amount of livestock including sheep, horses, cows etc. to add to the agricultural basis of the empire. Diamond speaks about how societies and environment's focus around major imports and exports and that an agricultural balance is essential for a empire or society to flourish. He talks alot about the specialization and trade aspects of building an empire. I think that the key points of building a flourishing empire stand in the moderation of the agricultural. Diamond talks about food production and how the growth depends on the climate in which one lives and the man power to work the fields. The changing of the amount of food production is a result of the increasing populaiton. As my empire grew with more military and more settlers the agriculture needed to grow. I kept buildig farms and pastures to house and produce enough food so my empire could run on an increase in food production and trade their abundance of food. The economica strategie put into this game so far was that the amount of food production should out weight the number of stomachs to feed but not out weight the man power that was necessary to produce the excess food.
